REED BUSINESS INFORMATION PURCHASE THE CONCRETE SHOW

Publishing company Reed Business Information, hosts of the annual SED (Site Equipment Demonstration) exhibition, which is celebrating its 40 th anniversary next year, has recently acquired the Concrete Show from its previous owners – The Westrade Group.

Westrade has been running the Concrete Show alongside SED since 2002. Westrade's Managing Director, Richard West commented “The Concrete Show has become an integral part of the SED Event and it is natural that RBI is best placed to take the Show forward within the UK 's top construction Event. I am very optimistic that this will benefit all concrete professionals involved in construction, repair and renovation who want to make the best use of their time at this one stop shop. I look forward to working with the management team to ensure a smooth handover.”

Reed's decision to purchase the show was based on the synergy between SED and the Concrete Show and the growing success of both shows over the past four years.

We are absolutely delighted to take the Concrete Show on board and welcome it into the Reed fold. With the forthcoming Olympics in 2012, and a growing construction industry, a great deal will be invested in both concrete and construction materials, which is why SED is the most obvious home for the Concrete Show – an established exhibition where buyers are guaranteed to see the latest and most innovative methods and technology in this important sector of our industry”.

The Concrete Show will feature its own pavilion and entrance, demonstration areas and a number of outside plots. The show covers every aspect of the industry and attracts over 70 exhibitors featuring the latest in batching and precast equipment, admixtures and materials. It also includes major specialists in formwork and reinforcement, with kit and products for finishing, renovation and demolition.

SED 2005, which was held at Fen Farm in Milton Keynes for 13-years, was the most successful show ever with 21,916* visitors flocking through the gates over the 3 day show. That tops last year's figure of 19,457-audited attendance - an increase of just over 12.6%. There were a grand total of 434 exhibitors; over 100 of those were brand new, occupying 108,003 square metres. An announcement will be made on the 19 th October on where the 40 th SED (16 th , 17 th and 18 th May 2006) will be held.
